Microsof, please support AVI video

As many of us know the 360 is an excellent multimedia tool however it isn't flawless. With the 360 only supporting certain video formats streaming video through our 360 can be a timely and frustrating task, If the 360 supported avi then most of these problems would not exist.

AVI is clearly the best video format in terms of quality, both in picture and sound so why doesn't the 360 support it?. At present if we want to stream video we have to convert it and 9 times out of 10 the quality of video suffers, the picture becomes pixelated and impossible to watch and also the aspect ratio is made ridiculously small so users have a postcard sized picture on their TV/monitor instead of a full screen video. With the release of the 120gb HDD then storing larger video files will be no problem to the consumer.

We believe that the 360 is only using a portion of it's capabilities and if the AVI format was supported then people would use their 360 not only for games but for watching some of their favourite video files.

Please Microsoft give the 360 AVI support, you will make a hell of a lot of people happy and it will cut out some of the stress of being able to watch video on our 360's
