We the undersigned petition you & the National Football League to seize control of the Cincinnati Bengals professional football organization. We believe, as fans of said organization, we have been held hostage by the current ownership. Since the death of the beloved Paul Brown in 1991, the Cincinnati Bengals have the worst winning percentage in all of professional sports. The Bengals have 1 winning season in that time period & no playoff wins. We the people of the greater Cincinnati area believe the current owners have made the Bengals organization an embarrassment to our community & an embarrassment to the National Football League.
We hereby request you seize the ownership of the organization, or rescind the rights of the Bengals to compete in the National Football League. Mr. Brown has been asked for many years to change the way he operates this organization, but refuses to. He believes that a National Football League team can operate with no General Manager, and virtually no scouting department. Mr. Brown continues to think he can operate as if it is still 1969, and the last 18 years have proven that is not feasible.
