Myspace defenders

Dear Myspace, and all other forms of media,

As you all know, Myspace is currently the biggest teenager fad to hit the internet and is more than likely to remain that way for some time. For those with an account, it allows users to make friends with people over the net and even hook up with old friends one has not seen since they were 4 and 5 years old.

However, Myspace keeps coming under fire by the media and people for "resulting in the deaths of teens." There was even a recent case where a teen was assaulted by someone she met on the net, and she decided to sue the site for it. Here is the article for proof.

From reading that article, I am just angry at how that went down. This girl was attacked, but she deemed it necessary to sue Myspace, so she's pretty much blaming society for her problems instead of coming up and admitting she was being stupid. As if that wasn't enough, there are also petitions on this site that want Myspace shut down because of similar, if not the same situations.

Therefore, I urge anyone who cares to sign this petition, stating that a website and its users shouldn't suffer because of someone else's stupidity and lack of parenting.
