Excellency Ban Ki-moon
Secretary-General

New York, New York
Your Majesty,
Newroz is an ancient Aryan celebration with a religious background in the first day of spring. Newroz with three thousands years history is one of the oldest celebrations in the world which we expect UN try to save and promote it. Newroz means New Day and for each nation it has different meaning for example for Kurdish people Newroz means Freedom, beside its meaning of the nature reborn.
Newroz is New Year celebration for more than 300 million people around the world, which is showing the importance of the event in history, but unfortunately Newroz, is not recognized by UN in its calendar. In fact it is UN's responsibility to save and promote such an important historical event and make other nations also familiar with Newroz.
We, the undersigned, request from your Excellency, bearer of the highest office of the United Nations, to kindly authorize the relevant agencies to correct this oversight for the upcoming calendars throughout the UN agencies.
Please accept our best wishes and thanks for your attention to this important request.
