No Supercenter in Kapolei

Massive superstores are known as regional shopping centers. They draw traffic from as far as 50 miles away. Until there are adequate roadways to not only accomodate current traffic, but to absorb the impacts of such an enormous project, we feel that this should not be allowed to move forward.
24-hour per day retail Superstores are well-known crime magnets. Not a day goes by without hearing news reports of murders, child molestations and kidnappings associated with these stores and their parking lots. Kapolei is our beautiful home. We do not need to willingly invite crime into our town.
Wal-Mart is known for paying extremely low wages. We would like to see the addition of living-wage jobs in our area to decrease the traffic from Kapolei and Ewa residents being forced to commute into Honolulu in order to make a living.
Massive big-boxes have massive parking lots and numerous tractor trailer deliveries per day. We do not feel that the neighborhood children and residents deserve to be subjected to not only the unbearable traffic, but more importantly to the dangerous health-hazards of so much additional pollution in our neighborhoods.
