Article 5, Section 4 of the Constitution and Bylaws of the Society for Industrial Microbiology (recently changed to the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology - SIMB) states that "... a petition for nomination of an individual member signed by at least 30 members will cause that personХs name to appear on the general ballot."
