I wanted to bring attention to the fact that Calgary has a wonderful pediatric hospice, The Rotary Flames house. That's right I said CALGARY and wonderful in the same sentence. It was initially built by the Rotary Club and the Calgary Flames and is staffed by Alberta Health Services. The facility provides reprieve time for parents, as well as transitional and end of life care for children. Now my problem is the Rotary Flames house is 3hrs away and like most kids that are under palliative care, mine can barely handle a 20 minute car ride. So what I'm proposing is a "Rotary Oilers house" in Edmonton or the like.
