Open Letter to All Editors and Bureaucrats

This is with reference to the article published in Sandesh Newspaper on 10 November 2009 along with derogatory cartoon defaming Pujya Sant Shree Asaramji Bapu. We want to point out that there have been several instances of misreporting and denunciatory adjectives used liberally to mislead, inflame and instigate against Pujya Bapuji and his Ashrams by local media and 24/7 news channels. Our religious sentiments have been deeply hurt.

There have been several incidents where Press Council has slammed Sandesh for the infraction of the norms of journalistic conduct in their reports appeared aimed at creating a sensation in the surcharged atmosphere; misleading and inflammatory articles; provocative and instigating language causing divisiveness and hatred among the common people. At the outset, we would like to inform the Media & Government that they should understand their responsibilities and should not take the liberty at all to defame any person / institution for the sake of TRP, readership or garner more votes. The Media should not manipulate the NEWS and should always bring the true picture in front of the public. They should always keep in mind that whatever is written by them has a great impact on the minds of the readers and your credibility is at stake. Media has been given the right to expression by the Constitution and the same should not be misused by them. Some traitors for their own benefits misguide the public and media is becoming the victim in their hands.

Shri Ramchandra Bhatt, a MBA graduate from UK and two more sadhaks, Shri Shankar Purohit & Shri H. Manjappa have restored to Indefinite Hunger Strike till death {" Amaranan Anshan Aevam Dharna } to protest against such publications by Sandesh since 12 November 2009 10pm IST. (TODAY IS DAY 8)
We support the cause taken by Shri Ramchandra Bhatt and others & demand for action on the following matters:

1) Take immediate and appropriate action against Mr. Raju Chandaakh & Co-Conspirators based on evidence clearly exposed in A2Z Channel sting operation. (Watch Video at http://alturl.com/t58w)

2) Immediate action against Sandesh Newspaper for publishing defamatory cartoons & circulating derogatory false rumors in spite of being exposed by A2Z Channel sting operation. (www.ashram.org/press)

3) To withdraw the case registered by the CID (crime) department in the deaths of Dipesh and Abhishek filed under section 304 (homicide) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Protection Act against 7 members of the ashram.

4) Mr Falgun Patel, the editor cum owner of Sandesh to publish an apology on front page of Sandesh newspaper for all the defamatory articles and recent cartoon published and also take back all the allegations made against Pujya Bapuji in the last few months. In addition to that, the newspaper promises that if they publish such articles in future their license should be revoked.
