(1)That The Arts Council of the Irish Republic explain clearly why they have illustrated clear resistance to the development of the Galway-based Western Writers' Centre (Ionad Scribhneoirн Chaitlнn Maude)which has been running for eight years, by reducing or removing funding.
(2)That this include the Council's resistance and reluctance to fund the four-year-old Forge at Gort Literature Festival, in Gort, Co. Galway, Ireland in spite of never having sent a representative to view it.
