Petition to soft drink manufacturers to create stevia sweetened sugar free soft drinks

We are asking soft drink manufacturers to produce a softdrink that children and adults can enjoy as a treat without the high sugar content or the danger of artifical sweeteners.

In November this year my 6 year old was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes also known as juvenile diabetes. As her little body has destroyed her insulin creating cells she now relies on  4 injections a day to provide her with the insulin you and I create everyday. Due to the amount of sugar contained in one glass of soft drink she would require an extra shot of insulin to enjoy this product.

This has left our family searching for sugar-free soft drinks and cordials only to discover that these all contain artificial sweeteners. We would like to offer our child a special treat of soft drink without sugar and without the cocktail of man-made chemicals that are present in sugar free drinks.

I realise there is already one cola soft drink in the market which contains 30% less sugar and is sweetened with Stevia. However this drink still contains more sugar than she can consume without insulin and caffeine.

We are searching for a reputable company that would manufacture a natural based (no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, sweeteners) sugar free soft drink for children.

There are many thousands of children in Australia trying to live normal lives with type 1 diabetes - however it is not just them that would benefit from this product. Childhood obesity is such a huge issue in Australian society, what an excellent contribution to overcoming this problem this product would be!

I am embarking on a mission to contact as many companies as I can in Australia to make this product a reality for my child but I truly hope you can help us.
