On behalf of those who live in Karachi, Pakistan, I wish to request the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to NOT visit Karachi anymore.
The citizens of Karachi, through this petition, wish to bring to the notice of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, how painful each and every visit of theirs is to the denizens of this city.
Given the immense size of Karachis vehicular traffic, the fuel prices, our hot weather and the coarse and inefficient means used by the police to control the flow of traffic, your VIP visits have become a dreaded occasion for the people of Karachi. Each visit brings extended road blockages, wasted fuel, massive traffic snarls, heightened tempers and most importantly of all, millions of wasted man-hours. Children and the sick are the biggest losers in the mess that becomes Karachi during your visits.
Todays world of advanced communication and media allows us to work from anywhere, anytime without the need to be present somewhere physically. We feel that the requirement for attendance of the two dignitaries at events in Karachi is necessitated for the sole purpose of pomp and display.
We hope that this petition will be given the due and serious consideration it deserves and that both of the addressed VIPs could understand and appreciate the level of anguish and pain suffered by most Karachi residents.
