Poplar Side Road Interim Alternative Route

We, the under signed, request that the Township of Clearview ensure that effective traffic controls are provided during the design and construction of the Town of Collingwood interim alternative route such that the current traffic volume on Clearviews section of Poplar Side Road and Osler Bluff Road do not increase. The roads are designated as local roads, and were previously rejected as a feasible route to bypass the Town of Collingwood.
Unless effective measures are implemented, we know that a significant amount of non-local traffic will use the PSR and Osler Bluff Road and this is not acceptable the residents. This road sees heavy traffic volume and excessive speeds for which it is not safe. Further increase in traffic volume will depress property values in the area and ultimately could result in serious injury, if not death, to persons in our community.
We further call upon Clearview to present the scope of work in detail in a transparent manner; to explain how pedestrian and bicycle traffic is being accommodated; and to demonstrate that this project will result in ZERO increase in traffic as stated in the Transportation Paper and the Transportation Master Plan, which are the official documents prepared to date.
