Push for more Government Funding for Home Birth in Victoria

We're far behind on the new trends of birthing women in the state of victoria. Currently there is a new home birth pilot, run through Sunshine and Casey Hospitals, allowing the government trial funding homebirths within a 30 kilometer circumference to each of the hospitals. It needs to be available to EVERY victorian to get the correct synopsis to their trial!
A comprehensive four-year study of all home births attended by midwives in British Columbia, published in August 2009, found "Planned home birth attended by a registered midwife was associated with very low and comparable rates of perinatal death and reduced rates of obstetric interventions and other adverse perinatal outcomes compared with planned hospital birth attended by a midwife or physician
