Your company has created an amazing MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online. Thousands of Russian JRR Tolkien fans acknowledge LotRO as the best game about Middle-earth ever made.
We've come to decision to send you this letter due to serious problems with Russian version of the game that we've encountered since fall 2008 after release of the The Lord of the Rings Online in our country. Moreover, the situation is getting worse with each month. Among other problems there are lack of appropriate server support, permanent servers' crashes and even servers' rollbacks. Russian community managers are unable to explain when these problems will be cleared. Instead they prefer to ban each person who tries to complain on the official forum of Russian LotRO. That was the reason why many gamers have no other choices but to leave the game.
The most serious complaint is dealing with lags, impenetrable invisible walls and inability to cast spells and use any other skills if more than 40 characters are gathering within sight of each other. Representatives of IT Territory stated that the cause of lags is the architecture of the game and this issue can be resolved only by the developers, i.e. Turbine. In response to that Russian gamers have created accounts on the European server Snowborn and they haven't experienced any problems with lags there even in overcrowded locations. Russian publisher didn't comment on the situation and further requests remain unanswered.
These are only the main problems. We can list a dozens of others but they are less significant and we don't want to distract you from the main issues.
Following several unsuccessful attempts to reach a compromise with IT Territory we've decided to appeal to you as the developer of this great game to resolve the impasse.
We appreciate the tremendous work you've done on creating such outstanding MMO-game as LotRO. We wouldn't like to see this work ruined by incompetence of Russian publisher.
