Reduce Soap Times!

Emmerdale is on SIX sometimes the equivelant of SEVEN times per week with hour long episodes and Coronation Street is on FIVE times with a double episode on Monday!
Sure, the quality is arguably still brilliant, but can ITV really expect viewers to be able to handle six episodes of soap a week, twelve if they watch both? People do have lives and at the moment viewers are only tuning in when they have time and very few watch every episode now.
I'm scared of Emmerdale because there are so many episodes you just can't keep up!
You never know when ITV will spring it's next surprise. Maybe next they'll schedule three episodes on Monday (they've already done this) and a permanant hour-long episode on Wednesday! Then they may go a step further and have two episodes on Friday (also done before)
With Emmerdale I wouldn't be surprised if an hour long episode was introuced permanantly on Tuesday and Thursday.
SAY NO to the amount of time our soaps are on!
**** Axe the second Monday episode of Coronation Street - use it only in very special circumstances - 4 nights a week max!
**** Axe the Sunday and Friday episodes of Emmerdale - in the long run viewers will be able to watch it without feeling too committed! In very dramatic circumstances either add an episode to Friday or extend an episode!
