Mekonnen Dori is suffering from a heart condition, which forced him to be hospitalised in the early part of 2003, and Amnesty International is concerned that his detention could affect his health. As far as Amnesty International is aware, his trial is ongoing but has not reached a conclusion.
Amnesty International considers him to be a prisoner of conscience, detained solely because of the non-violent expression of his political views. He has neither used nor advocated violence.
The undersigned call for his immediate and unconditional release.
