Our School District, Village, Park District and many other groups feverishly try to uphold the standard of the Wauconda a "1st Class Community" started by the United Partnership for a Better Community many years ago. The mission of the 1st Class Community spirit is a combined effort to promote positive character traits within our community, businesses, schools and homes. First class characteristics are respect, honesty, teamwork and responsibility for others. Various signs throughout District 118 schools display one or more of the mission words with the intent to consistently remind students to live by the action items in the mission.
Mr. Batson, it is unconscionable that you, as an elected School Board Member through April, 2009, do not resign. Take the high road, do the right thing, show some class. Quoting just one of many news articles about your two police incidents within five months of each other..... Batson plead guilty to a charge of domestic battery rather than facing a trial for an aggravated criminal sexual abuse charge and a separate domestic battery case was dropped as part of this plea agreement and he is not resigning his position with the district ".
Mr. Batson, we the undersigned respectfully demand that you resign immediately from your position as a Wauconda School Board member.

In my opinion, he admitted his guilt by paying off the family of the 14 year old the $2,800. If he was truly NOT GUILTY then why didn't he take his day in court.
