THE RENEGADE PETITION!!!

In September of 1992 a television series premiered. The creator of this series was Stephen J. Cannell, and the starring roles were portrayed by actors Lorenzo Lamas and Branscombe Richmond. Both leads were the protagonists, with show creator Stephen J. Cannell periodically portraying the villainous foe. It lasted five consecutive seasons in syndication, and gained a following that exists still to this day!!! The series is RENEGADE!!!

RENEGADE, for those of you who may not recall right off, was the story of San Diego police Sergeant Reno Raines (Lorenzo Lamas), initially sent in to flush out crooked cops in another jurisdiction and ultimately framed for murder. On the night he makes a sworn statement to the District Attorney, his motel room is broken into and his fiancй mistakenly takes a bullet meant for him. Reno Raines makes the difficult decision to go on the run in order to clear his name. If he stays, he faces imprisonment and in all likelihood death... He is joined in his quest for the truth by Bounty hunter extraordinaire, Robert Sixkiller (Branscombe Richmond). In short, Reno hits the road on his Harley, tracking down fugitives from justice, all the while searching for the missing evidence that would clear his name!!!

From 1992 until it's demise in 1997, RENEGADE became a much beloved show for its fans. The show balanced action, drama, and commedy quite nicely; all the while giving us some impressive storylines each week! The character of Reno Raines symbolized "the good guy", the "true
innocent". Following the show's cancellation in 1997, reruns were aired on the cable channel USA as well as around the world on other similar channels
for a few years. Then just as suddenly as it had come, RENEGADE was gone, leaving its fans both old and new craving to see just one more episode... Even if only as a rerun.

For a few years now, the fans have faithfully been trying to convince the powers that be (TPTB) that it would be worthwhile to release this television series on DVD. In 2004 the fans were given the news they'd been hoping for: the first season of RENEGADE would be released! And in January 2005, the wishes of the fans had finally begun to come true.
News quickly circulated over the internet that RENEGADE's second season was due for release in mid 2005. Then came the proposed May 31 2005 release date.

When the date had come and gone with still no official word of the second season having been released, a second release date of July 26 2005 was rumored to be in the works. It has now been learned that this as well as the initial May 31, 2005 release date is incorrect information and that as of yet there isn't any word on when, or even if, any of the four following seasons will be released and made available to the fans.

We, the fans, are asking for the second season and consecutive seasons thereafter be released on DVD. We realize that the decision of whether to release the next four seasons of the show is based largely on the sales of season 1. RENEGADE still enjoys popularity among fans who have seen the episodes several times over and those who are just seeing season 1 for the first time!!! This petition has been created to alert the powers that be there still is a demand by the fans for the rest of the series!!!
