Replace Outdated Nursery Rhymes

Consider the nursery rhymes we teach to our children. Consider the concepts they learn from them.

Who is Georgy Porgie? What is his pudding and pie all about? Isn't this rhyme all about sexual assault?
What is a tuffet? Where can I buy curds and whey?
Why do the Master and the Dame get the first choice of the Black Sheep's wool?
Is it politically incorrect to describe Simon as Simple?
As it's never mentioned, how do we know that Humpty Dumpty is an egg? And what have the King's Horses and King's Men to do with it all?

Rhyme after rhyme proves itself to be completely incompatible with the modern world. They are based - at the latest - in the Victorian era and filled with values we no longer cling to.

This petition seeks to replaces these pathetic remnants of a long-departed society with new nursery rhymes less calculated to baffle and irritate our children.
