Sub: Running Target Shooting Sports for India
Honourable Sir,
We, the shooters, coaches and fans of Indian Shooting are writing to you on a matter that holds great significance to our prestigious sport and to the nation. It is well known that Indian shooting sports has come a long way and is today at par with the top shooting nations of the world.
In India almost all shooting events like the Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun events have been played over the years and Indian shooters have been winning medals in all of these events.
We would like to bring to your notice that one event has still not been introduced in India, it is called Running Target, this is an ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) recognised event and is played by all other top shooting countries like China, USA and Germany. Hence, it rightfully deserves the introduction in India also.
Moreover we would like to bring to your notice that Sports Authority of India already have Running Target machines which were imported by them many years back and have been kept uninstalled at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, New Delhi.
The proposal for starting this event was strongly recommended by former Indian team coach Laszlo Szucsak two years back so that the Indian shooters could improve their medal count at major international shooting competitions.
Hence, we propose that the Running Target event should be introduced in India.
