The last week has been hell for Mumbai. Not just in terms of the actual damage and distruction, but the trauma and disbelief that such a fierce war could be fought in this commercial hub of the country.
Mumbai contributes substantial amount of taxes and other resources to the country. it is headed by a very incompetent Chief Minister and an even more incompetent Home Minister R R Patil.
R R Patil, the Home Minister of the State, the man responsible for internal security. Never has been and hopefully let us pray never will there be such an insensitive person. His statements after the terror attacks include the following:
(1) In big cities, such attacks keep happening. What can you do?
(2) The terrorists came with enough ammo to attack and kill 5000 people. The police and security forces acted very efficiently. the unsaid thing, of course, ONLY 200 people died - our security forces are the best.
Does the State of Maharashtra, one of the most industrialised in India and its capital Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, deserve such insensivity? Also, does it deserve on ostrich Chief Minister in Vilasrao Deshmukh?
This petition is to seek the pressure of the people of India on the Congress and NCP (the coalition partners in Maharashtra) for the immediate removal of Vilas Deshmukh and RR Patil from their posts.
