Save Opie and Anthony

"Beyond AM, beyond FM, it's XM Satellite Radio." Those words were all a part of the sales pitch that drove XM to the top of the satellite radio food chain. The product was advertised as an all new radio experience where the old rules and standards would not apply. But as of yesterday, when XM management decided to suspend hosts Opie and Anthony for 30 days, all the promises and sales pitches proved to be nothing but lies.
Lets review some facts about Opie and Anthony! The boys do have a long controversial history, no one is denying that. This suspension was unjust and uncalled for though. Even if we put aside the now apparent false advertisement from the XM company and pretend they weren't really trying to censor an uncensored program, the show's home on channel 202, "the Virus", has always carried the XL prefix, the "explicit language" warning tag that XM places on uncensored talk, rock, and hip-hop stations just incase the listeners didn't already know what they were getting into.
There was nothing special about the show in question which got the boys suspended. Opie, Anthony, and Jimmy Norton, have brought us great, edgy, and simply entertaining radio for many years using the same humor they used that day. Their many fans are well aware of their technique as it keeps them as one of the very few great radio shows still on air.
So now we all are forced to face reality and the unsettling truth that we have been lied to by power hungry robots wearing ties. Thats not to exclude the hard earned money that was basically stolen in the process!
Thats why fan or not of the show, we need to support the boys of the Opie and Anthony show by signing the petition below to have their suspension removed.
