SAVE OUR HISTORY - STOP THE DAIRIES PROJECT NEXT TO COLONEL ALLENSWORTH STATE HISTORIC PARK

We, the undersigned are fervently opposed to the Etchegaray project to build two dairies next to Colonel Allensworth State Park. The plan to build and operate two dairies in close proximity to this important State Historic Park - the only state park in California to commemorate and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of blacks to the state's history and development - is disturbing and disrespedful. The Board of Supervisors of Tulare County has demonstrated extremely poor judgment in approving this inappropriate and outrageous land-use proposal. The State of California should aggressively protect its investment in this park. The State of California should protect this important and unique cultural asset. The state should pursue any and all options to prevent the proposed dairy facilities project from moving forward.
