To Whom It May Concern,





On behalf of Ouran High School Host Club fans world-wide, we would like to register our distress at the recent announcement of the English voice cast. While the we feel that most of the hosts are appropriately cast in their roles, we feel that one Vic Mignogna is not at all appropriate for the role of Tamaki, Prince of the Host Club. While he has proven himself to be well suited to roles such as Edward Elric in Full Metal Alchemist, we do not feel he has the dramatic range to adequately, or even passably capture this new character.





Because such a wide segment of the anime community has been exposed to the Japanese subtitled version of this show prior to Funimations licensing of it, we are already familiar with this character of each host through the voice work of the Japanese cast. And while the overwhelming majority of the English cast has retained the original feel of the show, Mr. Mignogna has not shown himself capable of executing such a diverse and lovable character.





In executing the role of Fai from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, his performance drove away many die hard fans of the series and as fans of Ouran Host Club we hope that Funimation will not treat us in this manner. We would not like to see the quality of this show compromised for Mr. Mignognas fan base. While we understand that Mr. Mignogna has a very large fan base, we do not feel that this is adequate reason for him to be miscast in the lead role of Ouran High School Host Club.





Ouran is a wonderful diverse comedy that has already proven its draw in the American market and we sincerely hope that Funimation will remain true to the character of this series by recasting the role of Tamaki Suou. Additionally you may find that Mr. Mignogna might be more suited to one of the other roles such as Kasanoda or Nekozawa.
