We the undersigned declare our united opposition to the British Government's recent proposals for an outright ban on the sale of swords in Britain and the carrying of swords in public places.

We believe that the British Government should give proper consideration to the important historical, cultural, artistic, sporting, economic and religious aspects of legitimate law-abiding sword ownership, use and transportation.
