SOS - Cuts of over £1million will have a devastating impact on services for children and families in Corby
21 January 2011
Pen Green Centre for Children and Families is facing funding cuts of over £1million – 56% of the core budget that they have had since 1983. This will have a catastrophic impact upon the vital services they provide to children and families in Corby and the surrounding area, including the most vulnerable children in the community.
The Centre will face cuts of approximately £350,000 a year over the next three years.
This proposal has shocked and outraged parents and staff. There has been no consultation with the centre at any point in this process, and the proposal has been made without considering any of the consequences for Corby's children and families.
