We, the undersigned, respectfully ask the buyer of the property known as "Poplar House", Tom Nerney, and the associated developer, C.F. Holloway, III & Company, not to demolish buildings on that property. Concerned citizens of Radnor Township and others concerned with historic preservation call on the developer to consider re-purposing the reported $190,000 it will cost to demolish the main mansion, and use that money to restore the house for resale or adaptive re-use. We also ask that other buildings on the property, including a 220 year old farmhouse and a carriage house, be spared and that any development on the surrounding land be done around these structures that are important to the history of Radnor and the Main Line. The many historic buildings throughout Radnor Township create the unique fabric that makes it such a desirable place to live. If these buildings are destroyed, the special character of our community will vanish with them.
