RE: Lawful Firearm Ownership

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

The undersigned petitioners have read and agree with the following statements. Please understand and acknowledge the gravity of these statements.

We, the undersigned petitioners beseech the many members of government to cease carrying through legislation that curtails, diminishes and infringes upon the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Legislation that pertains to which small arms American Citizens can own, how many firearms we can own, any type of national registration scheme, openly and brazenly infringes upon the Second Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional. No form of government in these United States has any business compiling information on which American Citizens own firearms. National gun owner registration is therefore completely and without question against the original intention of the Second Amendment.
Lawful gun ownership among the general population of the United States was intended among other things, to be a final check and balance on the scope of power that government has over its Citizens.
Firearm control legislation that is proposed in order to bring down the incidents of crime is futile and ineffective because of the known fact that violent criminals do not obtain firearms through legal channels of commerce.
We the undersigned petitioners by signing, hereby demonstrate to members of government, our indignation and frustration at being held liable for crimes committed with firearms. We law-abiding firearm owners refuse to be held liable and refuse to be punished for the uncivil, immoral and illegal actions of criminals simply by owning firearms.
We the undersigned petitioners hereby demand that legislation contrived to curtail the use of firearms in crime, concentrate solely on the criminal misuse of firearms.
We the undersigned petitioners hereby charge government with the responsibility of preserving and protecting the original intention and meaning of the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.
