We, residents of the village of Scotia,NY, support the formation of a dog park for the use of residents of the village and their dogs. Scotia is one one of the few communities in the Capital District that does not have a dog park available to its residents.
A community dog park will be beneficial to the village of Scotia because it will:
Socialize and exercise dogs in a safe environment
Create a stronger sense of community
Promote responsible pet ownership
Improve financial gains nearby businesses
Decrease off-leash dog violations
Provide elderly and disabled residents an accessible place to exercise their companions
Make residing in the village more attractive to dog owners
