Shark Boy (Dean Roll) has filed a lawsuit against Miramax, a Disney-owned company, claiming that his trademarked "Sharkboy" gimmick has been infringed upon. Miramax and Robert Rodriguez have released the movie "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl".
Roll has a case as he trademarked the name "Sharkboy" at least five years ago and he appeared on some episodes of "WCW Saturday Night" in early-2000 in that particular gimmick. Video footage of his WCW Saturday Night matches would be perfect evidence for his case.
Please sign this petition to show support for Sharkboy(Dean Roll), as he has worked very hard, for years, to build a successful gimmick, and character as Sharkboy. The movie could shadow his career as new fans who hear of him in the future may associate him with the movie, or even feel he may have based his gimmick from the movie. Please don't let Disney get away with this, and join me in sticking up for Sharkboy(Dean Roll) and his legal right to ownership of the name "Sharkboy". Thank you.

I would really hate to see Disney countersue and take the REAL Sharkboy's trademark away. It makes me sick to think just because Disney is a giant they might get away with this.
