Smoke-Free Air!!

The purpose of this petition is to ban smoking from the streets. So many days, I walk on the streets of Manhattan and my speech is interrupted due to the exhaling of smoke from people. It makes me gag, and cough, and it is just a filthy habit. It makes it difficult to breath for people, especially those with asthma. People have a right to smoke, but they do not have the right to infringe on my rights not to smoke. Just like they should be allowed to smoke, we should be allowed not to be subjected to it. Why should our health be put at risk? Smoking is also very bad for the earth, and can cause air pollution, and could eventually lead to Global Warming along with many other problems. So please take the time to sign this petition, your lungs will thank you!!!

26. Lisa Chrisman | I hate how smokers think just because they are outside they don't effect others. Well, prime example, at the beach the other day a lady somewhat near me was smoking and that's all I could smell! I go to the beach to relax and enjoy the FRESH ocean air not

18. Danielle DeSimone | Smoking on the streets should be illegal because it's unfair that innocents like children, pets, and anyone, should be forced to inhale smoke. Cigarette smoke is deadly and I have no idea why it's even legal at all. It should certainly NOT be allowed in

16. Scarlett Bean | As a tax-payer, I would like to see more controls implemented to regulate unhealthy behavior. If my tax money is going to support people who can't afford their own health care, the government needs to regulate health more to alleviate costs.

9. Meghan S. MacLean | One is not allowed to drink alcohol in public on the streets so it makes sense that one would not be allowed to smoke either. Especially since smoking effects others on the street more so than drinking would.

8. Matt schneider | Smoking is horible in every way and this will not only limit second hand smoke, but will also help others to quit, I hope this can become a law.

7. Mary Bobb | People may have a right to kill themselves with smoking, but they have no right to kill me or others while they do it. Manhattan streets are incredibly crowded and on 3 different occasions I had burning ashes from cigarettes dropped on me while I was
