The town of St. Stephen, the picturesque Canadian border town overlooking Calais Maine, deserves to be modernized. This modernization must begin with a new and vibrant town name that will inspire new interest and excitement in the community. Who remembers (or has heard of) the original St. Stephen? We feel that the new town name should reflect a more modern hero, while keeping the spirit of the old town name alive.
As a border community, the residents of St. Stephen have a great deal of respect for the United States, and the symbols of Truth, Justice and Freedom that it represents. For this reason, we feel that the new name should pay homage to the ultimate symbol of the American Spirit.
We strongly feel that in order for the town to move into the future, it is imperative that it now be known as St. Stephen Colbert.
