Stand beside the struggling Gujjar community

Respected Sir,
The unrest among the Gujjars, demanding reservation, has been tackled with immense repressive measures by the BJP led Rajasthan State Government, not unlikely of it of course. With utter shock we notice that ethnic antagonism has also been provoked by the government for the obvious reason of generating party led terror and frenzied mob violence parallel to state repression. Already police and military firings have claimed 45 lives. These people, who have laid down their lives, in fact follow the footsteps of those 78 peasants who were killed by the Vasundhara Raje Government nearly a year back for demanding proper irrigation facilities. Such an act by a government led by BJP, which is contending full fledged for acquiring power at the Centre, amply demonstrates their target of demolishing all forms of democratic rights. These ruthless mass killings accompanied by government sponsored ethnic clashes, challenging the unity and sovereignty of India, are invariably aimed at the impending elections, both at centre and state level. Letting this massacre to continue further will serve to transform this subcontinent to another Yugoslavia and thus another free and Special Exploitation Zone for imperialism.
We are anxious and eager for a proper solution to this Gujjar problem. Hence we demand:

1)Vasundhara Raje Government has to abide by its electoral promises with no delay.
2) An Immediate end to the state repression.
3)Every responsible police and military official has to be punished immediately.
4)Every family suffering from death or injury has to be compensated immediately.
5)The Central government should break its notorious silence and take quick measures to safeguard the unity of our country.
6)Showing due sympathy to the protestors the State and Central governments should take immediate decisive steps towards proper solution.

We urge the Central and the State Governments to follow and implement the short term solution of reservation along with its supplement, the over-encompassing solution of Socialism to all the problems like the Gujjar case in Rajasthan, as prescribed by the Constitution of India.
