Stand With Libya Action Items

Gaddafi continues to ignore warnings from the United Nations to stop the violence. Currently, Gaddafi is killing civilians with brute force, bombing water supplies, attacking hospitals, and hiding bodies of his victims. In the past few days, the Gaddafi Mercenaries have started kidnapping civilians from their homes, perhaps as a negotiation tactic.
Given the vast resources Gaddafi commands, the safety of the Libyan population is at risk. Timely action is critical.
We are asking the United Nations to quickly consider and implement the following:
1. Immediately accept the newly-formed Libyan provisional government in Benghazi as our legitimate representative to the United Nations.
2. Immediately implement a no-fly-zone and marine blockade to prevent bringing additional mercenaries into Libya and to prevent Gaddafi from striking innocent civilians.
3. Ensure that there will be absolutely NO ground military intervention. The Libyan people consider ground military involvement as an invasion which may lead to severe complications.
4. Continue condemning Gaddafi and his family and hold them responsible for all the crimes they have committed over the past 40 years.
5. Freeze all of Gaddafi and his familys assets all over the world.
6. Coordinate with the NEW Libyan provisional government in Benghazi to determine the necessity of targeted air strikes on Gaddafi and his sons military bases. This may be required to save the Libyan people from a potential catastrophe.
