Respected Sir,

Sub: Stop Appointing School Management Committees by the Outgoing Board of Directors (BoD)

We are glad that the much awaited election to the Board of Directors (BoD) became a reality and that five members from the parents have been elected to the BoD.

We are writing this to invite your attention to a severe lapse. We are given to understand that the appointments to the School Management Committee (SMC) and their Presidents of various Indian community schools are being done hastily by the outgoing BoD. This is against the accepted democratic principles and practice all over the world. Official bodies should not execute any such appointments once an election is declared. The appointments to the SMC should be undertaken by the new BoD comprising of elected members. This will ensure the transparency in the whole system and enhance our trust in the democratic principles being initiated.

Being the patron of the community schools and the representative of the community at large, we, the parents of the community school in Oman request your immediate intervention and action to ensure the above appointments are put on hold until the new BoD takes charge.
