We the undersigned are writing to request a halt to the deportation of Mr. Issam Al-Yamani. Mr. Al-Yamani entered Canada as a landed Immigrant, by legal means, led a productive life, demonstrated his law-abiding character for over twenty years, and peacefully raised his family here.
Mr. Al-Yamani's status as a stateless Palestinian refugee highlights the injustice suffered by hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who are denied basic human rights.
We understand that the reason for deportation is past affiliation to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). We also understand that Mr. Al-Yamani was not involved in any acts of violence and that he severed his ties with the PFLP in 1991.
Canada supports human rights and this applies to the Palestinians who should be assisted rather than being silenced and thrown out.
We hope you can see your way to ending this two-decade old ordeal by allowing Mr. Al -Yamani to remain in Canada, with his wife and two Canadian children.
