We, the undersigned, are opposed to the sell-off of public lands for private development at the former Andersonstown RUC Barracks site. The Carvill Group plan, based on the construction of private apartments and approved by the DSD, is unacceptable. It does nothing to address the urgent social or cultural priorities of our community, and represents instead a wasted opportunity. We demand a reopening of the consultation process with democratic community control over any future development plans for the site.
