Support for Kelly Tilghman and Threatened Boycott of the Golf Channel

In a recent broadcast, Tilghman remarked that young golfers, struggling to win in the Tiger Woods era, would have to "lynch him in a back alley" in order to win. She later apologized for the remark, recognizing that the term "lynch," referring to a half-African-American athlete, could be considered offensive. Tiger Woods himself, a friend of Tilghman, immediately accepted her apology without qualification and stated that he was sure that she meant no ill intent. Noting Tilghman's past and Woods' support, the Golf Channel did not discipline her.
Since that time, Rev. Al Sharpton has taken up the cause for Tiger Woods and other African-Americans, demanding that Tilghman be fired. Sharpton and his organization have threatened to protest and boycott the Golf Channel should their demands not be met. The Golf Channels directors have since suspended her, buckling to increased media attention, and have presumably begun the process of administrative review of her comments.
The following petition, then, is (1) a petition in support of Kelly Tilghman, and (2) a counter threat to boycott the Golf Channel should they cave in to the demands of Sharpton and his organization.
This petition's author is an avid golf fan and Golf Channel watcher. I am admittedly a fan of Tilghman's, as she is a true professional and talented anchor. I would hope that the Golf Channel recognizes that its actual viewers, and not the will of "politically correct vigilantes", have both a voice and an opinion. If Tilghman becomes the victim of such blatant injustice, I will never watch the Golf Channel again. Please sign this petition if you so agree.
