We, the undersigned, believe that all workers deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. One way that this may be achieved is through respecting a workers' right to form a union. We as faculty, students, and members of the Stanford community wish to express our support of the Janitors and Maintenance workers decision to form a Union at the Stanford Shopping Center. We request that management acknowledges this decision, and that management engages in a just and meaningful process to negotiate a fair contract for all of the workers.

As an undergraduate at Stanford, and as a frequent shopper at the Center, I demand to know that workers are being paid and treated fairly- and I would hope that the University does all it can to protect workers' rights.
