Please sign this petition if you support the badly needed regeneration of the long neglected but much loved Alexandra Park. Currently, these plans are not going ahead because of the removal of 10% of the tree stock, almost half of which will be replaced and almost half of which would need to be removed anyway for the health of the tree stock and personal safety.
The Park is a well used and much needed facility for local families, children, older people, sports clubs and flat dwellers. The misguided attempt to prevent the felling of a small number of the park's trees could lead jeopardise the funding for crucial regeneration of the park and if this happens, in the current climate, it is unlikely to be replaced.
