Take a Stand Against Deadbeat Parents of Alabama

This petition has been created to increase awareness in our communities as to who the deadbeat parents are. The deadbeat parent is simply defined as the parent, be it father or mother, who fails to pay monthly child support.

I would like to see that local and state governments of Alabama add the following to the child support laws:

1). If the deadbeat parent misses a payment, their name automatically goes into the legal section of the local newspaper, regardless if the payment is missed by only one day.
2) If a payment is missed a second time-does not have to be in consecutive months-the faces of the deadbeat parents will be displayed on billboards and/or local news in their hometown and the city in which they are employed.
3) For deadbeat parents who are greater than three months behind, their faces will be placed on a billboards in their hometown and city in which they are employed for at minimum of three months and until child support payments have been paid to date.

Sex offenders are publically shamed for their behavior and abuse of children. A deadbeat parent failing to provide financial support for their child is a form of abuse and these individuals should be publically shamed as well. I hope that you will support this petition with your signature so that the deadbeat parent will think twice about not taking their role as a parent more seriously and the children in this state will receive the financial care they deserve.
