The Animal Cruelty

It has come to my attention that although we have evolved into more mature and earth-conscious people over time,animal cruelty still exists. This is a time where we are supposed to be responsible role models for generations more to come,not prowling the streets in search of innocent animals to harm or kill.

I have been fully aware that there is a fine line between using animals resourcefully and animal cruelty. I think that has been the main purpose why animals were put here on earth for us; as a food and clothing source. But we must use this privelege sparingly. We cannot simply take advantage of this. There have been many accounts where humans have slaughtered animals for specific body parts while the rest was discarded just to earn a little extra cash,not thinking of the animal itself.

Some examples of these are as follows:
-The elephants killed in Nairobi,Kenya by poachers for their tusks. In one month,nearly 25 elephants were killed.
-The slaughtering of baby seals in Alaska for their fur.

There have also been some situations where an animal has been,in a sense,tortured to reach a required "luxury". An example of one would be the fish in China.In order to maintain the desired freshness,the fish are descaled,gutted,fried in hot oil(except the head) and is then served to be fed upon on the restaurant table all while it is still alive and breathing!.I find this atrocious. How could anyone put any animal in such pain all for
"fresh food"? Even though most may think it is just a fish and that many people kill and eat fish. But it is not that they ate it,it is the act in which they ate it,making it suffer. I can't imagine anyone doing this to their cat,dog,bird or hamster.
