The Continuation Of Hunting

On the 14th November 1999, the British Government commissioned an independent inquiry into the alleged cruelty aspects of hunting. They stated that they were committed to ruling based on "principle and evidence"

In June 2000 this inquiry ruled that "There is a lack of firm scientific evidence about the effect on the welfare of a fox of being closely pursued, caught and killed above ground by hounds."

On Wednesday 15th September 2004, 339 bigoted MP's voted in favour of a ban, on hunting with dogs, in England and Wales.

Despite the lack of evidence, and public opinion to the contrary, the government decided to pursue a ban. We implore the government to base their rulings on "principle and evidence" instead of bigotry and prejudice.
