The New Baptist Hymnal Must Be Gender Inclusive

We the current and next generation of Baptist hymn singers are interested and excited about the new Baptist hymnal: 'Celebrating Grace: Hymnal for Baptist Worship' and intend to support it in our churches, but we do hereby strongly urge that the Editorial Board of the new Mercer Hymnal change their policy and agree to alter all hymn texts to make them gender inclusive, so that our daughters learn their value in the church and in God's eyes from their earliest singing memories. We also urge the Editorial Board to add at least one woman to the board to ensure feminine perspective at the highest editorial levels.
