Dear President,
You have rejected the mercy petition of Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar. Only on May 23, the Supreme Court had issued notice to the government seeking its response to a petition by Bhullar pleading that his death sentence should be commuted to life as he had already spent about 10 years behind the bars.
Bhai Bhullar was discharged by the Sector 17 Court of Chandigarh in Sumedh Saini case because there was no prima facie evidence showing involvement of Bhullar in this case. Bhullar is convicted under section 120B of IPC and TADA in Bitta Bomb Blast case. He is convicted solely on the basis of statement given in police custody under pressure due to severe torture by the police. An alleged fabricated confession on blank paper signed under torture and threat of death. None of the 133 witnesses produced by the prosecution identified him.
It looks like we can never trust the Congress Party of India;
It was the congress who attacked Darbar Sahib (GOLDEN TEMPLE) in 1984.
In 1984, after death of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, more than 3000 thousands innocent sikhs were massacred in streets of Delhi, Jamshedpur, Kanpur and other places of India. The assassinates of Mrs. Indira Gandhi were given death penalty but on the same day, the killers of innocent Sikhs were rewarded with higher Positions in Govt; as Ministers like Harkishan lal bhagat, Jagdish tytler and Sajjan kumar.
Now, the rejection of Bhai Devinderpal Bhullars mercy plea is another blow to the Sikh community.
I, request you to reconsider his mercy plea for the sake of the future of the country and Sikh community.
