True Justice for Nithari

The brutal killing of innocent children has evoked feelings of anguish and disbelief. However, the larger facts surrounding the incident are still to be uncovered. The truth is that Nithari is not a unique case. These are numerous instances of such cases around the nation & it wouldnt be entirely wrong to say that a Nithari exists in every state of our country. Some facts that support these claims:

# Metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad & Bangalore with the highest number of migrant labor population are a haven for organ smugglers/trafficking.

# It is a known fact that organ transplants in case of mature individuals is fairly regular, with organs like kidneys, pancreas, liver, cornea, urinary bladder and skin grafts for plastic & reconstructive surgery already in use. The record of donors and receivers in such cases are available with most hospital. What remains a mystery is the reluctance of all major corporate hospitals in divulging facts pertaining to children organ transplants. Most of them are hardly transparent when it comes to donor receiver data.

For every successful organ graft in case of children (most of which are reported by media as achievements); questions about the donors of those organs are never asked. It takes little imagination to link these success stories with reports of erroneous operation procedures where children (mostly from the deprived class) end up losing vital organs.

# It is equally surprising to note that medical establishments across the world are at par with their Indian counterparts in concealing donor-receiver information for operations performed on children. It is highly likely that these organs are mostly outsourced from poor third world countries accounting for the thousands of successful transplants. Considering the high costs of the procedure involved and the subsequent treatment charges most beneficiaries are from well to do families. No war affected or economically deprived children avail these treatments.

# The data for the payment of these treatments would clearly reveal that in most cases black money is the source & false/doctored insurance papers can be traced to most of the cases especially children.

In view of the above it is time to read between the media coverage & the official comments that are deliberately trying to play down charges of organ trafficking. As aware & concerned citizens we demand immediate action on the following counts.

>>>> 1) A CBI probe on the allegations of Child Organ Trafficking not only in Nithari but also across the Nation.

>>> 2) Reinstatement of the suspended young IPS Piyush Mordia who was falsely implicated and made a scapegoat in this case and Immediate suspension of current SSP R.K.S Rathore owing to his failure in securing the evidences and preventing tampering with evidence. Additionally a fact-finding committee should probe into allegations of bribery and malafide conduct against him as is evident in the case.
