We, the undersigned registered voters of the City of Tulsa, request Mayor Bill LaFortune develop and implement a City Sustainable Energy Policy to include:
All City non-uniformed employees walk for trips less than one-quarter mile, use bicycles for official travel under 3 miles and carrying load under 15 lbs, or use mass transit for longer trips.
Reduce the motor pool inventory by 5\% per year;
Convert remaining fleet to use alternative sources of fuel where possible;
Convert from conventional energy sources to renewable sources for all City facilities;
Hire an energy inspector general;
Provide zoning incentives to encourage profitable in-fill redevelopment based on walking, bicycling, and mass transit.
