The following is a petition to remove a one year "cheating" suspension wrongfully placed on community member David "deLiGHT" Light (http://caleague.com/?page=user&userid=440366). David followed all of the proper procedure upon receiving a dispute after a match, but CAL-AC (Anti-Cheat) let him down by failing to do just to the situation.
This banning has gone beyond damaging a pursuit into competitive gaming, but has also severely impacted David's career as a writer within the eSports community. A false written statement that publicly ridicules someone or damages their reputation is, by definition, libel. And should not be tolerated by anyone, regardless of their standing in the community.
Because of this, this petition is also calling for CAL to issue retractions whenever a player is banned, and then unbanned. This applies to all cheating bans, that have later been found to be wrong. Silently removing a ban does nothing to the tarnished image of a victimized player. And while a retraction will not solve all problems, it will go a long way to show the league cares about getting things right, being professional, and above all their players.
