Uwe Boll, Don't Stop!

To Dr. Uwe Boll,

We the undersigned take issue with the idea that Dr. Bolls video game based films have irreparably damaged the source material which he has chosen to adapt, the genres in which those adaptations exist, or the very medium of film itself. We would like it to be known that there is a segment of the audience that actively enjoys not only Dr. Bolls films but the antics which have surrounded them. Dr. Boll is clearly aware (from statements made in interviews and on the bonus materials for DVDs of his films) of his own status in popular culture, and should not be treated as an inept loudmouth but a truly canny and offbeat entertainer worthy of praise for the unique approach he has taken to satisfy his audience.

Both Dr. Bolls films and the filmmaker himself have given us countless hours of enjoyment, whether through the camp value which the movies offer, the clear self-awareness and frankly bizarre attitude that he and his collaborators exhibit in DVD commentaries and interviews, or the self-promotion tactics which he has employed to promote them. We ask that Dr. Boll not cease making films, and give our heartfelt and sincere encouragement to this Lowtax-punching, tax-shelter using, Hollywood-hating fusion of Ed Wood and Andy Kaufman, one of the most interesting and enjoyable figures of modern popular culture.
