Walt Disney's Fantasia: The IMAX 3D Experience

Fantasy, GOTHIC fantasy, abstraction, tranquility, despair and righteousness. If you haven't guessed by now, those are just some of the words I use to describe the masterpiece that is Walt Disney's Fantasia.
Fantasia is probably the definition of entertainment; it's got something for everyone (as explained above). Not only was it the first film of it's kind, but it was also the first to bring in stereophonic sound (Stereo for short) to a feature film (initially released as "Fantasound"). It was beautifully animated, has a lush score, and still remains to be a film that is truly one of a kind. I truly believe there will be no other film like it. But that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed again... theatrically, that is.
With today's generation, it makes sense to bring back this film, specifically to the large cinema format that is IMAX 3D. I think I speak for Disney fans, as well as true film fans in general, when I say: "Disney, PLEASE bring back this gem". Of all films to be made, or of all that have already been made, Fantasia is just PERFECT for the IMAX 3D Experience; IMAX point blank would be great as well. Even "Disney Digital 3D" would be fine... but IMAX would be better. :D
I am aware it will take a while, but for a film like Fantasia, it's well worth the wait. It's really sad how the Disney Co., once a proud presenter of animation, now devotes most of their time and energy to Disney Channel pop music, teen stars and a whole bunch of sitcoms. NO DISRESPECT TO ANY of you Disney Channel stars out there, but its the truth: Animation is the root of the Walt Disney Company, and it's loosing its recognition.

Disney, having said all of that, I think I've made my point: Fantasia deserves a re-release, and the El Captain theater release it'll most likely be showcased in on 2010 won't cut it, especially for those who don't live in CA. Disney/Film fans everywhere, your support on this is vital. If you agree with everything said, please sign this petition in hopes for an epic re-release of the Walt Disney classic that is "Fantasia".

I would perfer an IMAX 2D experience, but Walt actually intended the Toccata and Fugue sequence to be in 3D, but it was never realized. But the film will be excellent in the IMAX sound system.

Truly epic. If this comes true, I would gladly watch it in theaters over and over and over again.
